Abstract

Copying and reproducing mechanism is described applied to punching-machines in which the work is carried below the punches by two intermittently advanced carriages capable of transverse movement and so connected that they move simultaneously. The carriages d, d<3>, to which the work is clamped, slide transversely on the carriages d<1>, d<2>, Fig. 1, and carry tracks E, Fig. 2, meshing with pinions e driven from pinions f feathered to slide on the common shaft F, turned in one direction by a weight W or by a spring, and a drum G to press the edge of the work against a guide roller H, Fig. 2, or to press a roller K, Fig. 5, on the carriage d against a guide tail M. In a modification the racks and pinions may be replaced by quick-pitch screws, and, according to the Provisional Specification the shaft F may be replaced by a chain geared to the racks or screws.
