In the form shown in Fig. 5, the sliding members ex are simultaneously adjusted by drawing together two semi-circular bands f bv means of screws g. Lead shot may be inserted between the sliding members and the rings. For small cocks, the sliding members are replaced by set-screws screwed either tangentially or radially into the casing.
