Abstract

Polyethylene blends comprise 1 to 99 weight per cent of a polyethylene of density 0.915 to 0.926 g/c.c., melt index 2.9 to 16 dg/min. and a melt index recovery of 50 to 85%, and 99 to 1 weight per cent of a polyethylene of density 0.960 to 0.975 g/c.c., melt index 5 to 18 dg/min., terminal vinyl unsaturation (TVU) less than 8.0, unconjugated unsaturation less than 3.0, internal trans unsaturation (ITU) greater than 0.30 and TVU/ITU ratio less than 10. The compositions may also comprise stabilizers, pigments and fillers and may be used for coating and laminating paper, wood, metal foils, plastic sheeting, irradiated papers and plastic articles, and particularly for coating photographic film base.
