Abstract

[Also in Divisions C3 and H1] Polyolefin film interleaved with dry paper and hot-pressed is used as a barrier, in a transformer or other electrical apparatus in the mineral-oil space between conductors, or between conductors and casing. The polyolefin is polypropylene or high density polyethylene. The boards may have thickness 1/32-“ inch. The barrier may be made by hot pressing the materials, e.g. at 250-500 p.s.i. and 160- 200‹ C. The board material may comprise 25-60 wt. per cent of the polyolefin.
