[Also in Division G4] A vehicle reversing alarm comprises a transistor multivibrator which flash alternately a pair of lamps by means of a relay, Fig. 1 (not shown) or a pair of transistor switches, Fig. 3 (not shown). A two-tone audible warning is produced by a further multivibrator frequency shifted by a resistor switched in and out of circuit by the relay or the transistor switch. In the latter case, the resistor is this transistor's collector load. In a further embodiment, Fig. 2 (not shown), the second multivibrator is omitted, and the relay also operates a pair of horns having different tones. The alarm may be automatically operated by the vehicle gear change control.
