Abstract

Ceramic insulating bodies having the composition by weight: 8-12% alkaline earth oxide, 35-47% Al2O3 and 45-53% SiO2 are produced from starting materials having a grain size of less than 5m . Preferably an aluminium silicate is used with a flux consisting mainly of BaO but also containing other alkaline earth oxides.
