Abstract
Novel colloidal ferric-xylite-hydroxy-substituted di- or tri-carboxylic acid complexes, suitable for injection, are prepared by adding caustic soda solution or an anion exchange resin (OH type) to an aqueous solution of a ferric salt, such as ferric nitrate, chloride or perchlorate, in the presence of xylite and reacting the resulting colloidal complex with the alkali metal salt of an hydroxy substituted di- or tri-carboxylic acid.ALSO:Stable colloidal ferric preparations suitable for injection are prepared by adding caustic soda solution or an anion exchange resin (OH type) to an aqueous solution of a ferric salt, such as ferric chloride, nitrate or perchlorate, in the presence of xylite and reacting the resulting colloidal complex with the alkali metal salt of a hydroxy substituted di- or tri-carboxylic acid.
