Abstract

1,110,143. Anaesthetic apparatus. O. H. DRAGER [trading as DRAGERWERK, HEINR, & BERNH. DRAGER]. 6 Jan., 1967 [7 Jan., 1966], No. 1003/67. Addition to 923,992. Heading AST. In an anaesthetic apparatus including an evaporator 9 in parallel with a by-.pass duct 6, the by-pass duct and the evaporator are each provided with a resistance 3, 10 having certain characteristics constant, the resistance 10 comprising a plurality of tubes connected in parallel, each tube having an internal diameter which is less than one fiftieth of the length of the tube. The resistances ensure that, if the gas flow rate changes, no changes in the anaesthetising vapour concentration occur, unless it is adjusted by moving the valve in the resistance 3.
