Abstract

1,109,017. Securing panes; panels &c. to support. C. AUBERT. 16 March, 1966 [16 March, 1965; 8 April, 1965], No. 11474/66. Heading E1R. A fixing device for securing a pane A on a support B comprises a preferably metallic reinforcing element 4 covered by extrusion with elastomeric covering 3 having an arm 3 secured against the support B as by screw 12 and, may be additionally by scoring on a layer of putty or glue and an arm 4 provided with transversely extending lips 5 for engagement with the pane A to form a seal therewith and a groove 6 to receive a key strip 8 to urge the lip 5 against the pane. The groove 6 is provided with locking recesses 7 to receive correspondingly shaped projections on the key strip. The two oppositely disposed devices may be combined into a unitary channel shaped device, the base having an extension on one or both sides for fixing purposes and forming with the flange the groove 6 to receive the key strip 8. In a further modification a lip is formed on a flange of the channel section and provided with the groove for the key strip (Fig. 5), or the device may have an H-section with at least one pivoted leg (Fig. 10) and with the grooves 6 on one leg. One or both flanges of the channel section may be extended beyond the base. The device may be in two parts, Fig. 12 for engagement in a groove, 20 in the support B each part containing a reinforcing element 2 in the form of an angle section as in Fig. 1 and each having an extension to protrude into the groove 20 and both together to clamp each other in the groove, the U section extension 22 being the same for different thickness of the pane A.
