Abstract
Novel compounds of formula <FORM:1108918/C2/1> and acid addition salts thereof, wherein R1 and R2 are H, C1- 6 alkyl, C1- 6 alkoxy, halogen, CF3 or C1- 6 acyl, Y is C2- 6 straight or branched alkylene and R3 and R4 are H or alkyl or alkyl linked together to form a ring either directly or via an oxygen or sulphur atom or a nitrogen atom which may carry an alkyl or hydroxy alkyl group as a substituent, are prepared either by reaction of an imidazolidone of formula <FORM:1108918/C2/2> with a reactive ester of a hydroxyalkylamine of formula HO-Y-NR3R4 or by reaction of an amine HNR3R4 with a compound of formula <FORM:1108918/C2/3> where V is a reactive atom or group, e.g. halogen. It is also stated that the novel compounds may be prepared by reacting a compound of formula <FORM:1108918/C2/4> with a derivative of carbonic acid. In all cases formation of the novel base may be followed by preparation of its acid addition salts.
