Abstract
1,108,436. Mineral-mining installations. COAL INDUSTRY (PATENTS) Ltd. 24 Aug., 1965 [28 Aug., 1964]. No. 35368/64. Heading E1F. Anchor arrangement for a floor-mounted elongated guide frame associated with a mining machine. The arrangement involves one or more beams, each beam being at one end attached to the frame at a position above the floor level and intermediate the width of the frame to extend transversely from and beneath the frame to bear on the floor at the other end. An extendable, roof engaging hydraulic chock is secured to the beam intermediate the ends thereof on the goaf side of the frame. The frame, which may be the trough of a scraper conveyer along which a milling cutter mining machine can move, is pivotal attached to the or each beam for pivotal movement about the longitudinal axis by rams mounted on the underside of the trough acting against the floor.
