Abstract

Detergents formed of variable quantities of a high strength liquid concentrate and a base solution are dispensed from a container having a compartment for each ingredient (see Division B8). The concentrate may comprise one of the following 1. 40-60% by weight of sodium metasilicate, a sufficient quantity of a conventional suds inhibitor and water. 2. 40% by weight of sodium polyphosphate or potassium polyphosphate, a sufficient quantity of suds inhibitor and water. 3. 60% by weight sodium hydroxide or potassium hydroxide, a sufficient quantity of suds inhibitor and water. 4. 99% by weight alkanolamine, a sufficient quantity of suds inhibitor and water. Examples of base solutions or low duty detergents may comprise about 32% by weight of 1. Ammonium soap of an aryl-alkyl sulphonate or 2. Ammonium soap of an alkyl sulphonate or 3. Ammonium soap of an N-fatty acid aminopropionate or 4. Ammonium soap of iminodipropionate and 5. Sufficient quantities of conventional additives such as opacifiers, perfume, soluble lanolin, bacteriacide, &c. 6. 1/16th of 1% of a viscosity agent, and 7. 1/18th of 1% of a surfactant such as a fluorocarbon: and about 67% by weight of water.
