Abstract
A tubularly knitted article of hose incorporates a rotary knitted toe comprising a succession of part courses extending across the top centre line of the foot and increasing progressively in length towards the toe tip. The toe is closed by a join extending under the centre of the foot. The toe and sole may be reinforced by splicing or using a thicker yarn; the toe yarn may be of thermoplastic material.ALSO:A tubularly knitted article of hose incorporates a rotary knitted toe comprising a succession of part courses extending across the top centre line of the foot and increasing progressively in length towards the toe tip. The float yarns inside the toe may either be cut during fabrication or subsequently; and the toe is closed by a join extending under the centre of the foot. A complete course or courses may be interposed between successive part courses or groups of part courses. The toe and sole may be reinforced by splicing or using a thicker yarn; the toe yarn may be of thermoplastic material.
