Abstract

Linear polyesters having an improved dye-affinity contain (a) residues of terephthalic and/or isophthalic acid; and (b) residues of glycols at least 3 mol. per cent of which are residues of 2 - methyl - 2 - phenyl - 1,3 - propanediol. Preferred additional glycols are of formula HO-CH2-(CX)n-CH2-OH where X is a hydrogen atom or a C1-C4 alkyl group and n is 0-10. The polyesters are made by the usual ester-interchange process.
