Abstract

1,107,200. Coated sheet material. NATIONAL DAIRY PRODUCTS CORPORATION. 30 Sept., 1966 [7 Feb., 1966], No. 43743/66. Heading B2E. [Also in Divisions B5 and B8] A wrapper for cheese &c is cut from a sheet comprising an intermediate layer of a flexible, tear resistant, gas and moisture impervious synthetic film and an inner layer of a pressure sealable and releasable wax-like coating which does not adhere readily to the cheese &c, to which an outer layer of metal foil may be added. The intermediate layer is preferably a 50 gauge film of polythene terephthalate resin, although polypropylene, polyethylene or "Cellophane" (registered Trade Mark) may be used. The inner layer is preferably a mixture of ethylene-vinyl acetate and paraffin wax forming a coating of about 25 pounds per ream, but the following may be used;-a mixture of rubber, paraffin wax and microcrystalline wax; a mixture of microcrystalline wax, aluminium distearate, and an ester gum; a mixture of 18% by weight pale crepe rubber, 8% ester gum, 44% microcrystalline wax, and 30% paraffin wax. The outer layer is preferably a 0.0004 inch thick aluminium foil to provide strength and dead fold characteristics, bonded to the intermediate layer by a film of thermoplastic bonding material such as polyethylene, and the outside surface of the foil may be coated with vinyl plastics or lacquer or other ink receptive material.
