Abstract

1,106,666. Cigar making machines. SERVICE D'EXPLOITATION INDUSTRIELLE DES TABACS ET DES ALLUMETTES. 8 June, 1965 [9 June, 1964], No. 24088/65. Heading A2C. Waste from leaves cut on the cutting die of a machine for cutting cigar wrappers is blown from the die by compressed air from a nozzle 3 into a shoot 4 to which suction is continuously applied. Compressed air is supplied to the nozzle 3 by an electrically controlled valve 7 which also operates an hydraulic jack 9 for opening a cover 5 of the shoot 4 in synchronism with the blast from the nozzle 3. The control circuit for the valve 7 (Fig. 3, not shown) includes two switches in series in the supply line to the solenoid controlling the valve 7. One of these is a manually operated switch 12 which, when operated, actuates a relay which closes contacts to (a) hold itself energized and (b) by-pass the manual switch. The second switch is operated by a cam to energize the solenoid for the valve 7. The circuit is broken by a second cam operated switch in series with the manual switch 12.
