Abstract

1,106,524. Raking blade for thickeners. UNION CORPORATION Ltd. 18 May, 1965. [22 May, 1964], No. 20953/65. Heading B1D. A adap prises at least a pair of raking blade carrier arms 16 (Fig. 3) extending radially in a circumferentially spaced relationship in a direction away from a common substantially vertical axis, and the arms being mounted on pins 22 spigots 19 and shaft 13 for rotation together around the common vertical axis while permitting individual pivotal movement of the arms 16 independantly of each other in both a substantially vertical plane and a substantially horizontal plane, and elongated draught ropes 26 attached to brackets 29 mounted on arms 16 (Fig. 6). The arms are rotated by draught force provided by leading rotating arm 11 (Fig. 4) acting via attached plates 27 and elongated draught ropes 26 on anchor brackets 29 (Fig. 6) attached to the arms 16. Parts 27a and 29a of plates 27 and brackets 29 are angled such that the draught forces act substantially in the plane of these parts.
