Abstract

1,024,868. Agitating powder. NOVADEL Ltd. Nov. 17, 1964 [Aug. 20, 1963], No. 32877/63. Heading B1C. An agitator for powdered material has a rotatable vertical shaft 4 and at least one agitating member 2 consisting of a sector or segment of a circle inclined so that one side is at a different level to the other. As shown there are two such members mounted oppositely on the shaft and overlapping at x. They may have holes 8. The lower may carry a supplementary agitator 9 extending to the flared lower end 5 of the supporting post 3 and having a branch 10. The upper is strutted by a rod 11 extending to a member (not depicted) such as a radial arm. The apparatus shown comprises a cylindrical chamber I having a perforated floor and discharging powder on the conveyer; the agitation prevents packing of the powder on the chamber floor.
