Abstract

<PICT:1105158/C1/1> Laminated sheet material has an inner layer 3 having a relatively high thermal conductivity relative to the outer layers 5, 7 one of which, at least, is capable of being sealed to glass. The material is used for the manufacture of leader for semi-conductor devices. The sealing layer i a 29% nickel, 17% cobalt iron, a 42% nickel iron, a 52% nickel iron or a 42% nickel, 6% chrome iron alloy, and the other layers copper, nickel alloy, low carbon steel, gold or silver. The inner layer may be a steel-copper-steel laminate with sealing material on both sides. Semi-conductor leads 19 are sealed into apertures (17) by glass 21 which adheres to the oxidized outer layer 7 and also to the edges of the layers 3 and 5.
