Stocking-suspender grips.- The button tape C is threaded through the slotted base-plate 2 of a wire stud 3, which is passed through the tape, and an elastic sleeve 8 having a headed portion 7 is pressed on to the stud to hold the tape against the base and complete the button member. In the arrangement shown in Fig. 2, one end 13 of the tape is threaded through the slots 11, 12 of the base-plate and the stud 3 is then passed through a hole 14 in the tape, the other end 15 of which is passed through the suspension loop A, over a bar F of the bottom loop B, and then through the slots 11, 12 behind the end 13. Fig. 7 shows the method of attaching the tape when the base-plate is provided with three slots. Alternatively, the tape may be used singly, one such arrangement being shown in Fig. 9, in which the stud 3 is passed through the tape twice.
