Abstract

Metal-containing unsaturated olefinic compounds are dyed with an aqueous dispersion of a dye of formula: <FORM:1104954/D1-D2/1> in which R1 is a hydroxyl or amino group, R2 is a hydrogen atom or a substituted or unsubstituted phenyl radical or a substituted or unsubstituted phenyl sulphonyl radical, R3 is a substituted or unsubstituted alkyl radical a carboxylic acid ester group or a substituted or unsubstituted carboxylic acid amide group and in which the ring A may bear substituents other than acid dissociating groups such as sulphuric and carboxylic acid groups. Preferably dyeing is effected at pH 1-7 at temperatures of 90-140 DEG C. in presence of a mineral acid or a strong organic acid and a dispersing agent. Metals used to modify the olefins are copper, calcium, cadmium, aluminium, titanium, zirconium, chromium, manganese, iron, cobalt, nickel and zinc. Brown shades are obtained.
