Abstract

Quartz glass is joined to one of Mo, W, Ta by a binary alloy of Sn and 2-3% wt. Ti. A preformed solder member is placed between the glass and the metal and the joint heated to 900-1000 DEG C. in a vacuum. Preferably the parts are assembled in a jig.
