Abstract
In an improvement in the process of producing rose-coloured glazes as disclosed in the parent Specification 1,061,586, the molecular ratio between the manganese salt, expressed as MnO, and aluminium compound, expressed as Al2O3, is within the limits 1: >25 to 200, and the ratio of MnO to mineralizing agent, taken as oxide, is within the limits 1: >1.5 to 20, the annealing temperature being from 700 DEG to 1350 DEG C. Lead salts may also be added to or used in place of the alkali or alkaline earth oxide mineralizer. A suitable glaze composition is given in addition to a number of pigment examples.
