Abstract

A woven curtain heading tape has a tubular portion attached to the tape at intervals and containing a flat elastic pleating ribbon. The dimensions are such that the pleating ribbon slides easily in the tube when the tape is flat but is gripped by puckering of the tube when the tape is pleated. In use, one end of the tape is grasped so as to hold both the tape and the pleating ribbon; the ribbon is pulled out of the other end of the tape a desired amount; this end of the tape is then squeezed to clamp it on to the ribbon, which is then allowed to retract, whereupon the tape forms pleats in the intervals where it is not attached to the tube.
