Abstract

1,101,792. Forming fibre-board. DEFIBRATOR AKTIEBOLAG. 23 April, 1965 [24 April 1964], No. 17223/65. Headings D1F, DIN and D1R. Fibre board is made from a fibre pulp of a lignocellulose containing material by passing a mixture of the moist pulp and steam under superatmospheric pressure into a chamber 29, which is preferably at atmospheric pressure, and allowing the fibres to settle on a wire 33. Wood chips are pre-heated by steam in container 14, are disintegrated and ground at a temperature of for example 180‹C and a pressure of 11 atmospheres in disc refiners 19, 21, and are then passed to an adjustable expansion jet 27. Hot air from heat exchanger 47 and heater 55 is fed into chamber 29 to prevent any condensation. Moist air from the chamber is removed through suction box 39. Excess pulp from the web on the wire 33 is stripped by fan 63 and returned to the chamber through cleaner 67. The web is pressed by device 69, and is cut into sheets which are subjected to a hot pressing. A binder may be added, if required, to refiners 19, 21, conduit 25, or to chamber 29.
