Abstract
1,101,735. Apparatus for stretching filaments. BARMER MASCHINENFABRIK A.G. 11 May, 1965 [13 May, 1964], No. 19836/65. Heading B5B. An apparatus for stretching individual or groups or bundles of synthetic threads running side by side by means of endless conveyer bands looped round rotatable rollers, comprises clamping regions both at the input and a delivery end of the apparatus each formed by an endless conveyer band tensioned against and by means of a pressure roller, the pressure roller acting on the outer surface of the band between two deflecting rollers of the band, and the two bands rotating at different speeds. One or both of the deflecting rollers of a conveyer band may be swingable or displaceable on a common support. The deflecting rollers may be supported by a yielding coupling member, and the pressure roller may be arranged to be swingable or displaceable. In addition a counter roller may be arranged to act on the conveyer band. The conveyer band may be driven by one or both deflecting rollers or by the pressure roller or the counter roller or both. In the apparatus of Fig. 1, a thread line 1 passes over roller 19 and thence into the neck formed by roller 10 and conveyer band 8. Conveyer band 8 is mounted over deflecting rollers 4 and 5, and the pressure roller 10 is adjustable in the direction of conveyer band 8 by the action of the piston rod 13 of the hydraulic loading device 14 in the frame 12. The thread line then passes between the nip formed by roller 11 at belt 9. Tensioning roller 11 is mounted in fixed position in frame 15 while conveyer band 19 with its two deflecting rollers 6 and 7 and its support 16 is displaceable relative to framework 15 by the action of piston rod 17 of the hydraulic loading device 18 acting on support 16. Conveyer band 8 may be driven by one or both deflecting rollers 4 and 5, and conveyer band 9 may be driven by tensioning roller 11. Fig. 2, illustrates an arrangement in which the entering and leaving thread lines are parallel. The apparatus of Fig. 3 illustrates an arrangement in which the deflecting rollers 26 and 27 of conveyer band 29 which is in contact with pressure roller 28 are displaceable in swivel arms or in slot guides indicated at 30 and 31 respectively. By this means in the event of the conveyer band undergoing an increase in length the deflecting rollers are kept in direct contact with the pressure roller through the tensioned conveyer band. Fig. 4 shows an arrangement similar to Fig. 1, but with an additional counter roller on the frame, this counter roller acting on a conveyer band from outside and being, if necessary, displaceable in the direction of the conveyer band. A similar arrangement is shown in Fig. 5, in which deflecting rollers 4 and 5 are connected together through a spring supported coupling link 33 and can be arranged to be pushed together so that one of the rollers, i.e. roller 4, can be brought into direct contact with pressure roller 10 and, if desired, also with counter roller 32, through the conveyer band.
