Abstract

1,101,586. Dispensing liquids by gaseous pressure. AVON PRODUCTS Inc. July 26, 1965, [Oct. 8, 1964], No.31747/65. Heading F1R. In a pressurized dispensing container valve comprising a housing 1 and a valve stem 2 having an inlet orifice 8 and an axial bore 7 communicating with a chamber 17 when the stem is depressed, the housing is provided with openings 5, communicating with housing chamber 16, through which propellant and material to be dispensed may be introduced into the container on which the valve is mounted. When pressure filling the container, gasket 12 is deformed as shown and the material passes through chamber 16 and openings 5 and possibly through bore 7, chamber 17 and housing inlet 4. The container contents are discharged through bore 7 when orifice 8 is depressed beyond sealing gasket 13 into chamber 17, gasket 12 sealing against the surface of valve stem 2.
