Abstract

1,101,174. Rotary drum mixers. H. NIELSEN & SON MASKINFABRIK A.S. 25 May, 1965 [3 May, 1965], No. 22217/65. Heading B1C. [Also in Division F4] A rotary drum 1 for treating particulate material, especially stones for road-making, has a burner 9 and discharge openings around its periphery with guide members 17, 18 on the inner and outer sides of each opening so arranged that the stones &c. are agitated within the drum in one direction of rotation and in the other direction of rotation are discharged through a channel 14. The drum is mounted on driving wheels 11 driven by reversible motors 12 and fed with pebbles &c. through a chute 7, and its central portion 2 is surrounded by a fixed casing 13 with a flue 15 for removing the hot gases. The drum has conical end portions 3 to guide the stones &c. to the outlets 17.
