The apparatus of Specification 1,001,545 is modified in that a single light-source 61 illuminates the two different channels by which the even-order images and the odd-order images of a series disposed on one or two 9, 9' continuous strips are respectively projected on to a single image support 58. The strips move at a speed to give from three to eight projected images a second. Two stationary plane polarized filters 27, 27' whose planes of polarization cross at right angles and a rotating plane polarized filter 37 ensure that each image of a given order takes the place on the screen of the preceding image of the other order by lap dissolve.
