A pocket for an index label is provided on an article 1 of stationery made of card, such as a folder or wallet, by folding a piece 14 of transparent thermoplastic material to envelop an edge portion 12 of the article 1 so that the fold is adjacent the edge of the portion 12, whereby the latter affords rigidity to the piece 14, and heat-welding the piece 14 to the portion 12 at both sides at 15 in regions spaced from the fold line, so that pockets are formed between the piece 14 and the portion 12 for the retention of an indexing label or strip. As shown, the portion 12 extends from one edge 13 of a folder 1, and the piece 14 is also heat-welded to the portion 12 at 16. Prior to its application, the piece 14 has formed therein three score lines (17, 18, 19, Fig. 3) parallel to one another, and it is folded about the middle line (18); the other score lines (17, 19) overlie the junction line between the portions 12 and 13, which line may also be scored to allow the portion 12 to be set at an angle to the folder body. Suspension folders.-The folder 1 is of stiff card folded about a score line 2<SP>1</SP>, and provided with further score lines 2 to facilitate the insertion of thick files between the leaves 4, 4<SP>1</SP> of the folder. A hood 3 of stiff card is secured to the upper ends of the leaves 4, 4<SP>1</SP>, and openended slots 5 are formed in the hoods 3 for suspension from a pair of parallel rails. The junction between the front edges of the folder and the fold lines 2 is reinforced by a piece 9 of thermoplastic material which is of rectangular shape (Fig. 2), pre-folded about a centre score line (10), and heat-welded to the folder.
