Abstract
Novel aminoalkyl rutin (or hesperidin)-3,4-dihydro - 1,2,4 - benzothiadiazine - 1,1 - dioxides of the formula <FORM:1099571/C2/1> wherein R=H, halogen, e.g. Cl, Br or F, alkyl e.g. CH3 or halogenated alkyl, e.g. CF3, R1 = H, halogen or a sulphamoyl group, R2=H or a C1- 6 alkyl group whose chain may be branched or ring closed, R3 and R4 are each hydrogen or a C1- 5 alkyl group whose chain may be branched or ring closed or NR3R4 may form a heterocyclic group which may contain an oxygen atom in the ring and "rutin (hesperidin)" represents a rutin or hesperidin residue, the position of attachment to the benzothiadiazine and the amino groups being unknown, are made by the reaction of a 4-R1-5-R-2-sulphamoyl-aniline with an aldehyde R2CHO, a base R3R4NH and rutin or hesperidin, preferably in a solvent or diluent.
