Abstract
1,098,692. Moulding concrete articles. INTERNATIONELLA SIPOREX A.B. Jan. 8, 1965, No. 845/65. Heading B5A. In a plant for manufacturing cellular lightweight concrete bodies, a mould comprises side and end walls 1, 2 forming a frame on which wheels 9 are mounted, the bottom of the mould being formed by separate, transverse sections 5 adapted to be releasably retained between lower marginal portions of the side walls. As shown the invention is applied to plant in which the cellular light-weight concrete bodies are after initial solidification cut into smaller pieces and then steam hardened. The side walls 1 are connected by link-like hinges (not shown) to the end walls 2. The upper portion of the members 1 carry rails 12, which can be engaged by the wheels of another similar mould in an autoclave during the steam hardening stage. The lower portion of each wall 1 is grooved to receive the bottom members 5. To prevent leakage of liquid concrete through gaps 6 between the members 5 an endless belt is provided between wheel-engaging rails 10 moving in synchronism with the mould and having resilient pads sealing the gaps. The plant, Figs. 6a to 6d (not shown), comprises a station in which the mould is arranged above the endless belt and is filled from a mixer, the mould then passes through a conditioning tunnel, the concrete body is removed from the mould and passed on a cutting bed, the cut body is then returned to the mould which is moved in a stacked condition into the autoclave. The moulds are then unstacked and unloaded for subsequent return to the filling station.
