Abstract
1,098,631. Printed circuits. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO. March 12, 1965 [March 23, 1964], No. 10678/65. Heading H1R. In a wring board for selectively interconnecting electronic components, e.g. in a highspeed digital computer, an insulating board 1 has mutually perpendicular sets of parallel grooves 2, 3 cut in its opposite surfaces; holes (not shown) are drilled through the board 1 between grooves of different sets at all crossover points; a metallic coating 6 is deposited over both surfaces of the board and on the walls of the holes therein, to form a screening plane; an insulating coating 7 is deposited over the coating 6 within the grooves 2, 3 and into the holes, filling the latter; apertures are formed through the insulating filling in those holes where an interconnection is desired between signal conductors; and a second metallic coating is deposited within the grooves and through the said apertures to form signal conductors 5 and the connections therebetween. The parts of coating 6 between the grooves may be removed.
