Abstract

<PICT:1097900/C1/1> Sewage sludge from tank 3 passes in buckets 1 of a design described in relation to Figs. 2 and 3 (not shown), through a cooling tank 6 wherein it freezes, through a heating tank 7 where it thaws and is tipped into tank 12 for enhanced settling. The tanks 6 and 7 contain a hydrocarbon liquid.
