Abstract

1,096,671. Stacking crates. DAWSON BROS. Ltd., G. DAWSON, and D. DAWSON. July 29, 1964 [May 22, 1963], No. 20328/63. Heading B8C. In a machine for stacking or unstacking crates, upright guide members 8 are adjustable laterally to suit the width of the crates to be handled. The machine comprises vertical frame members 1 joined by top and bottom plates 2, and the crate supports 7 are vertically slidable on the guide members 8 by a fluid pressure ram 5, 6. The top and bottom ends of the guide members 8 are supported by nuts 9 on left- and right-handed screwed shafts 10 rotatable in bearings 11 on the top and bottom plates and turned by a handle 19 and chain wheels 12 to adjust the lateral spacing of the guide members.
