Abstract
A coating composition comprises butyl rubber or halogenated butyl rubber, a petroleum resin, at least one filler, e.g. titanium dioxide, and a minor amount of tolylylene diisocyanate, methylbicyclo-heptane dicarboxylic acid anhydride or a C9- 13 straight chain aliphatic anhydride. In an example, a paint was formulated from titanium dioxide, which may be coated with Al2O3 or ZnO, barytes, the above diisocyanate, a petroleum resin, butyl rubber and white spirit.ALSO:Metal surfaces, e.g. a steel panel, are coated with a composition comprising butyl rubber or halogenated butyl rubber, a petroleum resin, at least one filler, e.g. titanium dioxide, and a minor amount of tolylylene di - isocyanate, methyl-bicyclo-heptane dicarboxylic acid anhydride C9-13 straight chain aliphatic anhydried. In an example a paint was formulated from titanium dioxide, which may be coated with Al2O3 or ZnO, barytes, the above diisocyanate, a petroleum resin, butyl rubber and white spirit.
