Abstract

Polyesters, such as polyethylene terephthalate, are stabilized by mixing them with up to 1 per cent of their weight of a cupric salt of a monocarboxylic acid (e.g. stearic acid) or a cupric salt of a phenol (e.g. phenol or a naphthol). The compositions, which may also contain titanium dioxide, are then made into fibres or films.
