Abstract

The invention comprises a mixture of organic peroxide and a compatible colour pigment, provided that ethylenically unsaturated monomers are absent, pigments which react with or catalyse the preparation of the organic peroxide are excluded, and the pigment is present in an amount sufficient to impart visual colouration to the composition. It is preferred that the composition also contains an activated gel in an amount sufficient to cause the composition to be permanently homogeneous, and in this modification the stated provisos do not apply. Specified peroxides are benzoyl, 2,4-dichlorobenzoyl, tert.-butyl, lauroyl, cumene, methyl ethyl ketone and cyclohexanone peroxides, and perphthalic acid. Specified pigments are red, black or yellow Fe oxides; C.P. non-bronze blue; chrome green or orange; C.P. soft EX green; cosmetic non-aniline ultramarine blue lake or green; Cd yellow or lemon lithopone; metallic Cu; C black; phthalocyanine; ferric ferrocyanide; malachite green lake.ALSO:The invention comprises a mixture of organic peroxide and a compatible colour pigment, provided that ethylenically unsaturated monomers are absent, pigments which react with or catalyse the preparation of the organic peroxide are excluded, and the pigment is present in an amount sufficient to impart visual coloration to the composition. It is preferred that the composition also contains an activated gel in an amount sufficient to cause the composition to be permanently homogeneous, and in this modification the stated provisos do not apply.
