Abstract

1,095,141. Reinforced tubes. TECHNOCHEMIE KESSLER & CO. G.m.b.H. Aug. 31, 1964 [May 31, 1963], No. 21919/63. Heading F2P. A flat strip 1 of thermoplastic material is wound into the form of a helix with the edges of adjacent turns overlapping and, simultaneously, a wire 4 of metal or other material is wound into a helix of the same pitch as the turns of the strip and to lie between the overlapped edge zones 2, 3 of the strip which zones are pressed together on both sides of the wire by a grooved roller to weld or bond the edges and encapsulate the wire. The strip may be stretched to assist the formation thereof around the wire, and heat is applied to the overlapping edges as the strip is being wound.
