Abstract

1,094,631. Windows; doors; gates; &c. M. BAERMANN. March 18, 1966 [March 18, 1965; Nov. 26, 1965], No. 12087/66. Heading E1J. A magnetic sealing strip for a refrigerator or the like comprises a flexible permanently magnetic strip 6 supported by a resilient strip 8 within a shaped strip 1 screwed to the refrigerator, the strip 1 having lateral projections 9 which abut projections 7 on the magnetic strip and retain it within the strip 1. When the refrigerator door is closed the ferromagnetic casing 10 of the door depresses the magnet resiliently. A U-shaped bar 5 is inserted in the strip 1 for rigidity. The strip 8 is made of plastics foam and may project from the strip 1, it may be supported on a resilient bellows like member (Figs. 4-6, not shown). The strip 1 may be mounted on a sealing strip with compressible end portions. Strip 1 is made of thermoplastics material. Strips 1 and 6 have obliquely cut ends and bores 11 through which right angled connecting wires are passed to secure the corners. The exterior surface of the strip 1 may have a strip of coloured adhesive tape attached thereto.
