Transverse strips 3 welded to rectangular duct sections 1 form open grooves for rubber sealing strips 9 and have flanges 7 for the reception of bars 8 slid thereover. The strips have flanges 4 bent upwardly to form flanges 11 the upper ends of which are bent towards the bars 8; the flanges 11 protect the flanges 7, particularly, of the strips 3 during transport of the duet sections. L-shaped corner fittings 13 are riveted to the flanges 11 and fittings 14 are secured to the bars 8 to cover the corner of the sealing strips.
