Abstract
1,092,866. Voltage modifying arrangements. ASSOCIATED ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. May 3, 1965 [May 12, 19641, No. 19710/64. Heading H2H. A voltage modifying arrangement comprises an inductive elementsuch as a transformer T1 coupled to a high voltage line L together with an intermediate transformer T2 coupled to the transformer T1 by a highly reactive link comprising capacitors C1, C2, the secondary winding of the transformer T2 providing an input signal to an amplifier A which supplies a current transformer T3 to which an ammeter may be connected to indicate the current in the line L, the centre tapping M2 on the transformer T2 being earthed by a capacitor C3 forming a potential divider with capacitors C1, C2 so that a voltmeter connected to point V1 indicates the line voltage. The transformer T1 may be replaced by a saturable reactor and the reactive link may be in the form of a bifilarly wound transformer. The amplifier A may be omitted and a carrier wave may be injected into the output of the transformer T2 with a demodulator connected between the transformers T2, T3.
