Abstract

109,001. Challis, C. E. Jan. 9, 1917 Pivoted handles.-Means for adjustably pivoting or connecting a handle to a brush, mop, vessel, &c., comprises a bracket, or two small brackets c attached to the brush &c. a, formed with serrated faces c' facing each other, with a screw d fixed centrallv between them and a nut e on the screw. Attached to the handle f, preferably by a socket and central screw h, is a bracket g slotted to pass over the screw d and serrated on each side g<1> to correspond with the serrated faces c', so that it may be clamped by the nut e against either face c'. The serrations preferably alternate on the opposite faces to provide a large number of angular positions into which the handle may be adjusted without unduly reducing the size of the serrations.
