Abstract
1,089,886. Stove doors. FELLOWS, CHAMBEKLIN Ltd. March 25, 1966 [March 27, 1965], No. 13092/65. Heading F4W. A door (31), for closing the combustion space of a domestic heating appliance, comprises an outer rectangular frame (32) and attached to it an inner frame member (36) which is spanned by a plurality of radiation permeable rods or tubes 44, said tubes being held in contact with one another along their adjacent sides by means of elastic heat resistant material (49) acting on the two outermost tubes. Anchorage provided by members 43, disposed along the upper 37 and lower 38 limbs of the inner frame member (36), allows movement of said tubes in a direction perpendicular to the plane of the door. The bars of each tube 44 are at all times substantially in alignment with the apertures in members 43 and limbs 37 and 38, thus allowing the room to be heated by both radiation passing from the interior of the appliance and by air which is heated on passing through said tubes. Such a closure provides for controlled combustion within the appliance without loss of room heating and at the same time, on account of the mounting which allows relative movement of the tubes, ensures that these will not crack on expansion.
