Abstract

1,089,751. Transistor monostable circuits. ROBERT BOSCH G.m.b.H. Dec. 18, 1964 [Dec. 19, 1963], No. 51501/64. Heading H3T. [Also in Divisions F1 and F2] A monostable multivibrator for supplying pulses to an electromagnetic clutch or fuel injection system of a motor vehicle in dependence on engine speed comprises a reciprocally coupled pair of transistors T1, T2 having a potential divider C3, R4, R5 and diode D2 arranged so that the duration of output pulses is a function of engine speed. The circuit is triggered by pulses 12 derived in synchronism with the engine. The potential dividers C3, R4 ... R7 and diode D2 arrange that the duration of pulses fed to the clutch (Figs. 4, 5, not shown) is constant at engine speeds below 700 r.p.m. but increases linearly above that speed. In Fig. 1 (not shown) diode D2 is connected in parallel with R5 so that the pulse duration is approximately a linear function of speed. Figs. 6-9 (not shown) relate to circuits in which capacitor C3 is replaced by a diode and R5 is replaced by a capacitor. Such circuits have a pulse duration which varies as a continuous or discontinuous function of pulse frequency.
