A photo-copying machine in which the image of a document between plates 26, 27 is projected by a lamp L through a lens system 33 and on to a copy sheet at an exposure station 35 is characterized in that the copy sheet can be fed selectively either from a stack 43 of single sheets or from a roll 44. A manually-operated selector either closes clutch 60 to operate roller 53 to feed a single copy sheet between rollers 49, 50 and also pivots roller 73 away from the driving roller 49, or opens clutch 60 and engages roller 73 with roller 49 to feed on web from the roll 44 between rollers 73, 74 and between knife blades 78, 79 which are operated by clutch 82 to cut off the required length of copy sheet. In this latter case, feeding of the web is initiated by the document's leading edge passing a feeler 152 and is stopped by the document's trailing edge passing this feeler to allow the knife to operate. Operation of the motor driving the various feed rollers is initiated by pressure on the document receiving table 1 operating switch MSP. A lever 30 can be set to recirculate the document for multiple copies. A feeler 151 initiates movement of the pick-off roller 53 for a sheet to be fed from the stack 43. The copy sheet passes between charging electrodes 85, 86 and, after exposure, through a magnetic brush developer 40 and is then fixed by a fusing lamp F.
