Abstract

1,088,225. Potentiometers. SOCIETE D'INSTRUMENTATION SCHLUMBERGER. July 29, 1965 [July 30, 1964], No. 32530/65. Heading HIS. A vibration resistant potentiometer comprises a wire wound toroidal resistance element 28 sprung into a groove 26 carried by casing wall 12, a movable precious alloy contact member 46 of hardened flattened wire being carried by a member 38, 40 and an attached flexible strip 42. Terminals 14 are secured against axial or rotational movement in wall 12 and one is connected to member 38 through a contact arrangement 48, 52, 54. End play in spindle 30 is removed by tightening screw 74 to put pressure on spring 66, screw 74 then being secured by sealing wax 76.
