Abstract

1,086,189. Feeding articles to conveyers. DURKOPPWERKE A.G. July 7, 1966 [July 8, 1965], No. 30466/66. Heading B8A. Articles, such as coat hangers, are transferred from an inclined supply rod 2 to a continuously moving suspended carrier 109 by means of a transfer rod 3 engageable by the moving carrier and pivotally about the end of the supply rod in the direction of travel of the carriers. The carriers have arms 113, 114 pivoted between a loaded position 113<SP>1</SP>, 114<SP>1</SP> and an unloaded position 113, 114 in which they engage the transfer rod to pivot the same about an axle 5 with a cam 6 attached thereto. The cam acts on a lever 13 to rotate a shaft 7 which in turn moves a lifting means 4 through a slot 15 in the supply rod 2 to lift the coat hanger 19 over a rigid stop 1 on the rod and release the hanger for transfer to the carrier. The carrier is suspended on a support 102 attached at the upper end to an endless chain 101 and mounting wheels 108 to engage guideways 100<SP>1</SP> of a track 100, which track also mounts the transfer means.
