Abstract

Ethylene carbonate is obtained from a synthesis product having ethylene carbonate as the only constituent crystallizing below 50 DEG C. by subjecting the product in a warm condition to continuous crystallization in counter-current in a column in the upper part of which the synthesis product is cooled to form ethylene carbonate crystals while in the lower part it is warmed to 40 DEG to 50 DEG C.
