Abstract

New isohydrazone derivatives of the general formula <FORM:1085794/C2/1> wherein R1 is hydrogen, alkyl, aryl or X, where X is of the formula <FORM:1085794/C2/2> wherein R4, R5, R6 and R7 are the same or different and are hydrogen or alkyl, and n is 0, 1, 2 or 3, R2 and R3 are the same or different and are hydrogen, alkyl or aryl, or are joined together to form a carbocyclic ring, are prepared by reacting an isohydrazone derivative of the general formula <FORM:1085794/C2/3> with an epoxide of the general formula <FORM:1085794/C2/4> wherein R1 to R7 have the above meanings; and are used for the preparation of hydrazine derivatives of the formula R1-NH-NH-X wherein R1 and X have the above meanings, by hydrolysing the above isohydrazone derivatives.
